"I spend a lot of my free time reading. It is a form of meditation for me. While I love books that transport me to far away lands, rich in history and full of exciting tales. Most of the books that I read are ones that provoke thought, attempt to answer questions and give us insights of an others quest for information. Some books pose new questions for me to discuss with others or cause me to reflect more deeply to find my own answers. Most send me in search of yet another book to find information on those new thoughts and insights that I've gained from the last. It is a never ending journey for me and one that brings me great Joy! Books empower us with tools for growth and help us by inspiring, comforting and by putting us on the path in search of our own inner strength, peace and sometimes, are a major defining point in our lives."
"The

MARCH 2010 This month's choice is:
Spring! A time for new beginnings, cleaning out those closets…releasing that which does not serve our highest good any longer and moving that stuck winter energy!
There are many really good books out there on the art of Feng Shui. I picked this one for it’s relatively easy title. How can I go wrong with something that has 10 – Minutes right in the title! I also liked the fact that that it gives advice room by room. Since January I have been working on “clearing space” in my head as well as in my home. I have known for years how important it is to keep the energy in my body moving, and while I make sure to create Sacred Space in my home with Reiki and intention, I have never really paid that much attention to the “flow” of energy in my home. All I can say is that, after implementing a few of the tips in this book, is WOW! The energy has totally shifted and I’m really “feeling” it! Why has it taken me all these years to realize this and what can I move, paint or throw away next! Because it is truly written for a room-by-room approach it doesn’t seem like an overwhelming task, nor do you have to change everything. There are simple things that you can do in each room to create harmony and balance in your environments and, by extension, in your lives.
Feng Shui ( pronounced fung shway ) has been practiced in the East for more than 2,000 years. Rooted in the Chinese spiritual tradition Taoism and teachings of Confucius, it literally means “wind and water”. The goal is to direct qi or chi (the vital energy that I, as well as the Chinese believe animates all life on earth) through your environment so that its movement resembles a gently flowing stream or a pleasant breeze. Properly utilized, Feng Shui lets us attract what the Chinese call the Three Great Blessings ~ Health, Wealth, and Happiness.
There is of course, a lot more to this, but listed below are a few tips for each room that you can implement right away, I encourage you to pick up a book on the art of Feng Shui, you will be amazed that without spending a lot of money or doing major alterations on your home, you can still reap the benefits and get the energy flowing!
The entrance to your home ~ Plant red flowers in the front your home: Because red is a lucky color in China, you can improve your good fortune by planting red flowers in front of your home. Window boxes or planters are good choices for apartment dwellers – wood containers signify growth, and ceramic or stone pots represent security.
The Living Room ~ Clutter in your living room symbolizes confusion in relationships with friends or family members. Magazines and newspapers are prime sources of clutter, as soon as you’ve read them, recycle them or pass them along. To encourage peaceful feelings or relaxation among friends or family members, burn candles scented with lavender or vanilla essential oils.
Dining Room ~ Always keep a vase of fresh flowers on your dining room table. Feng Shui has ties to the Chinese nature religion Taoism. Place a vase of fresh flowers on your dining room table to connect diners with nature and to inspire positive feelings. As soon as the flowers start to wilt, remove them to avoid unwanted symbols of death and decay.
Kitchen ~ Hang a mirror above the stove. In Feng Shui, the stove is considered a source of good luck and prosperity. Because mirrors visually “double” the power of whatever objects they reflect, hanging one above your stove symbolically doubles its power to bring you good fortune. A mirror serves another purpose here, too. When the cook is preparing food, he or she may not be able to see people entering the kitchen. The mirror allows the cook to see behind him or her without turning around.
Master Bedroom ~ Don’t let dirty laundry collect in your bedroom. Chi gets stuck on dirt, resulting in stagnant conditions. “Dirty laundry” also represents unpleasant business and secrets, which can damage a romantic partnership. Instead of using a clothes hamper in your master bedroom, put dirty clothes in a hall closet, bathroom, or other area of your home. Keep your bedroom free of clutter to promote clarity and comfort in your love life.
Children's Bedrooms ~ Use green in the color scheme to encourage serenity. Green has a calming, stabilizing effect on us. Because we associate green with nature and plants, it can also make us feel secure and grounded. To help a nervous, anxious, or very active child feel more calm and centered, paint his or her bedroom walls green.
Bathrooms ~ Tie a green ribbon around your shower head to promote good health. This helps you focus on your health and well being whenever you shower. Imagine the falling water -which is a source of Chi- washing away any impurities, or other health problems. The green ribbon represents life, growth, and serenity.
Above all… Clean out those closets, get rid of that clutter! If you haven’t seen it or used it in a couple years, consider giving it to Goodwill or a charity of your choice. Move that Energy!!

FEBRUARY 2010 This month's choice is: The TAO Of Abundance
Eight Ancient Principles For Abundant Living
One ~ Recognizing the unity of all things starts you on the path to true abundance. Two ~ Learning to receive opens the door to your greatest good. Three ~ Following the path of least resistance brings success with ease. Four ~ Circulating the energy in your life strengthens health, deepens relationships, and generates wealth. Five ~ Honoring your innate dignity and actualizing your inborn abilities is the road to authentic power. Six ~ Balancing Yin and Yang eliminates stress and brings peace of mind. Seven ~ Taking time to be, to grow, and to nuture your relationships gives you the strength to persevere. Eight ~ Achieving your destiny is a matter of trusting and embracing the organic pattern of your life. From the author who brought us Zen And The Art of making A Living, comes The Tao Of Abundance. Once in awhile I come across a book that I feel should be on everyone's MUST read list, this is such a book! Not only is it full of deep insight but it also comes with a workbook section in the back to help you work through it's teachings, helping you to work through Your Vision of Abundance and bring more Joy into your life by living in and following your true nature. What does Abundance mean to You? In the introduction the Author is quick to point out that this is not a "get rich quick" or "think your way to riches" book. You will not be told to "think like a millionaire", "dress for success," or climb the corporate ladder." You won't find advise on investments or planing for retirement. The emphasis is on a deeper experience of abundance than can be realized by the mere accumulation of material things or money. We typically measure abundance in terms of the money and objects that we possess. We think that those who possess the most are the most free and powerful individuals and that they therefore enjoy the most abundant lifestyle. Yet, in truth the most free and powerful individuals are those who can be happy with the fewest things. Apart from the material side of abundance , we can have an abundance of ideas, of friends, of energy, and courage... or we can feel a sense of lack in any of these areas. In the end, we could say that abundance is the feeling of enough and to spare. Well, all right, but how much is enough? Clearly, having no point of reference for each individual, abundance then becomes more of a state of mind, or more precisely, of being. The Tao, by definition... is beyond definition, or, that which is transcendent to thought and name. You do not need to be a Taoist to enjoy or relate to this book, but you may find that the Tao makes more sense to you than you ever thought possible, as I have. "In subtle and beautiful poetry, it speaks not of exploits of God or gods but of the reality of an Eternal transcendent consciousness that all of us move in, whether we are conscious of it or not. To access this timeless wisdom, there is no need to learn about or identify with God or a mythological story about a single all-powerful deity. Recognition of the Eternal Tao does not require that you join an organization or that you subscribe to religious rules and regulations. You needn't call "it" Tao or yourself a Taoist. You need only begin to wonder at the mystery of life." "Something is mysteriously brought into existence Long before Heaven or Earth is made, It is silent and shapeless, It is always present, endlessly in motion from it like a mother every living thing has come. I do not know what to call it. So I call it Tao. ~ Lao Tzu ~ "The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious ... He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead; his eyes are closed." ~ Albert Einstein ~ Do you have a book that has been a defining point for you, one that you feel should be on a Must Read List? .... If so, I would love to hear about it! Send me as email at bobbie@theangelsonearth.org Wishing Each of You an Abundance of Peace, Love and Joy in Your Lives! ~ Bobbie Wiedmeyer ~ |

JANUARY 2010 This month's choice is:
STILLNESS SPEAKS by: Eckhart Tolle "The human mind, in its desire to know, understand, and control, mistakes its opinions and viewpoints for the truth. It says: this is how it is. You have to be larger than thought to realize that however you interpret "your life" or someone else's life or behavior, however you judge any situation, it is no more than a viewpoint, one of many possible perspectives. It is no more than a bundle of thoughts. But reality is one unified whole, in which all things are interwoven, where nothing exists in and by itself. Thinking fragments reality... it cuts it up into conceptual bits and pieces." As we embark on a New Year... a New Decade, how important is it to each of us to find that inner stillness that the author talks about in his book Stillness Speaks? Is one of your New Years resolutions to find more time for yourself, your family? Have you set goals for yourself to lose a few pounds or to maybe just eat a more healthful diet? We often forget that one of the most important things that we can do for ourselves is to find our inner peace, our inner joy... our stillness. For with it, all areas of our life come together more simply. We allow ourselves the realization that we are not our thoughts, emotions, sense perceptions, and experiences. " I am not the content of my life, I am Life. I am the space in which all things happen. I am consciousness. I am Now. I am." The more we do this, the easier it becomes, until finally, one day you will be in the midst of a very stressful situation and realize that you can call upon that stillness at any moment. You can and will choose peace over any alternative. Do you know of someone that just by their very presence... You become more peaceful? Wouldn't you love to BE that person? It is possible... in fact, it is who you truly are. This
is not a book that you read from cover to cover, it is also not a book
that you read once and then put on a shelf. It is passages that read
like beautiful poetry, food for the heart and mind." When you recognize that there is a voice in your head that pretends to be you and never stops speaking, you are awakening out of your unconscious identification with the stream of thinking. When you notice that voice, you realize that who you are is not the voice ... the thinker... but the one who is aware of it."
"Knowing yourself as the awareness behind the voice is freedom."
If you Love a book that is thought provoking, one that will help you take a deeper look at yourself and the way that you perceive yourself and the world around you, this is the book for you. "As far as inner transformation is concerned, there is nothing you can do about it. You cannot transform yourself, and you certainly cannot transform your partner or anybody else. All you can do is create a space for transformation to happen, for grace and love to enter" ~ Eckhart Tolle Happy New Year Everyone!
May 2010 Bring You Abundant Peace, Love and Joy!

How to Guide Your Life with Meaning, Purpose and Power
By: John English
"Whenever we reach out to another in service we become a channel for the power of the universe." ~ John English The muddiest water clears as it is stilled. And out of that stillness life arises. ~ Living the Wisdom of the Tao ~ From verse 15
Who among us has a perfect relationship with everyone? Awww c'mon ..... Everyone? How About Your Relationship with Life? What would your life be like if you could completely eliminate Fear? John English clarifies what he means by fear as " First we have the survival instinct, as long as we live it will always be a part of us. Second, the fear that I speak of is when my mind and ego take this survival instinct and run rampant with it. This leads to stress, anxiety and obsessive worrying." "In trying to eliminate fear the problem lies in identification. Most of us identify with our bodies and egos instead of our true identities. When this happens to you, you have temporarily lost your conscious connection to the power of your spirit." John English is a Shaman. Shaman, as well as Medicine People refer to their training as the Medicine Way. They refer to those that walk that path of training as a luminous warrior. "The luminous warrior is a peaceful being who strives to live an empowered life, impeccably. He defines impeccability as the process of showing up fully in each moment and doing the absolute best we can." I Love That! Think about that for a moment ... showing up fully in each moment and doing the absolute best that we can! I read his first book The Shift: An Awakening a few years ago and was very excited to read this one, his writing style and the power of his words touch me deeply. With this book you are taken on a journey through his life with examples of how making the decision to live without fear, setting that intention, lead him to discover himself and not only the power that we each have within us but to discover that Christ Consciousness truly is our Identity. This book is "little" but packed full of insightful, helpful advice with tools that apply to all of us. Each of us want a better relationship with someone, not at the expense of ourselves or our feelings .... Rather, an empowered and peaceful relationship with others and because of that, with life. Happy Reading! Wishing you Abundant Peace,Love and Joy!

November 2009 This month's choice is: We have all heard or seen displayed the wonderful phrase of Dream... Believe... Discover or, Live well, Laugh Often, Love Much! How about Cherish yesterday... Live today... Dream tomorrow. Why not, Eat... Pray... Love! I had never heard of Elizabeth Gilbert until I started looking for this months selection from the Lending Library. On the back cover from the Los Angeles Times I read : "A meditation on Love in its many forms - love of food, language, humanity, God, and most meaningful for Gilbert, love of self... Gilbert's wry, unfettered account of her extraordinary journey lets even the most cynical reader dare to dream of someday finding God deep in meditation cave in India, or, perhaps, over a transcendent slice of pizza". Hmmm sounds good! What I was not prepared for is how "Fun" it would be to read this book! This is a story of her journey to find herself and God across Italy, India and Indonesia. While most of us will not have an opportunity to take a year off and delve this deep into ourselves to find our peace we can share in this journey with her and find a piece of each one of us through her experience. She writes with an openness that few would share about themselves to a best friend let alone to the general public. We relate to her pain, confusion and panic and gain empowerment and hope that there is a better tomorrow, (even in the depths of depression) that it is possible to look at life with humor no matter what kind of situation we are facing in the moment. The Book is Three Parts Italy ~ Eat Simply for the Love of the language and for all Food Italian she begins her journey in Italy. She writes: " Is it such a bad thing to live like this for just a little while? Just for a few months of one's life, is it so awful to travel through time with no greater ambition than to find the next lovely meal? Or to learn how to speak a language for no higher purpose than that it pleases your ear to hear it? Or to nap in a garden, in a patch of sunlight, in the middle of the day, right next to your favorite fountain? And then to do it all over again the next day." India ~ Pray From one extreme of living your days in search of your next lovely meal in Italy, to India for a vegetarian diet, hours spent chanting and in silent meditation at the Ashram of her chosen Guru. She learns the art of going beyond the ego and becoming one with God. After days of feeling more of a frustration rather than peace she describes finally connecting with ALL and hears from God... "You may return here once you have fully come to understand that you are always here." Indonesia ~ Love Off to Indonesia to find a ninth generation Balinese Medicine Man who two years previously had predicted she would return and study with him while giving her a palm reading. His name is Ketut Liyer and her question to him on that trip was: "I want to have a lasting experience of God" He responds, "to find the balance you want, this is what you must become. You must keep your feet grounded so firmly on the earth that it's like you have four legs, instead of two. That way, you can stay in the world. But you must stop looking at the world through your head. You must look through your heart, instead. That way, you will know God". This, the final stop on her journey would take her further in her search for God but most importantly in finding that God and Love are actually One In The Same. Happy Reading! Abundant Peace, Love and Joy!

October 2009
This month's choice is: ![]() By
As
I have mentioned, there are books that we read that are defining
points in our lives, this is one such book for me. I first read this
book more then 6 years ago and it is a book I have selected from my
book collection over and over again when I need to remind myself of
what I already know.
It is like an old and dear friend that you would call when you need someone to pick you up, give you great advice and remind you that you are Loved beyond measure... beyond all of the problems in your life that you perceive. The "I" that is me - you cannot see
You see only the form that you think is me.
This form that you see, will not always be; but the "I" that is me - lives eternally. In
this book the Author explains what he refers to as Unity or God
Consciousness and writes. "There is only one problem that we face, and
that is our belief that we are separate from God. As you increase the
frequency at which you live, you shift your energy field to a level
wherein you elicit the qualities of Godliness. You become pure spirit.
You see no divisions and you know that you are connected to everyone
and all living creatures. You become a piece of God so to speak and
this mystical sense of connectedness no longer allows you to feel
separate."
This
Book provides the opportunity to think outside the box, and if we are
willing to open our eyes and hearts to something beyond what we have
been taught, we can see through the problems solving tools he provides
that "All Problems are Illusions." This may sound oversimplified
if you face seemingly unsolvable problems everyday, but think about this... If God is good and God made everything, then everything is good. God cannot behold anything less. So where does all this stuff that we lump into the category of problems come from? The Koran puts it this way, "Whatever good you have is all from God, whatever evil (problem), all is from yourself." In this book Wayne Dyer explains that when we come to believe that we are separate from God we experience this feeling of separation in our mind, and our mind tells us that we have a problem. The problem, created by our beliefs and existing in our mind, causes us to feel an absence of peace or love. Those beliefs can manifest as disease in our bodies, we begin searching for a solution. Our conditioning is so strong that we often have far greater faith in our problems than we do in our ability to no longer have them. "We are capable of reaching a state of awareness in which we can perform miracles."
"Your
true identity is the mind of mind, the eye of the eye, and the breath
of the breath. Go there and you will find the beginning of a Spiritual
solution to any problems you believe you have."
Abundant Peace, Love and Joy!

September 2009 While this book may appeal more to those of you that have some knowledge of Reiki
or Shamanism, the Author does a very good job of explaining both, and
in fact, gives information on several other Healing Modalities as well.
Reiki Shamanism did for me what I love a good book to do.
It sent me searching for more information and gave me a desire to read
other books that Mr PathFinder Ewing has written and recommended.
The Author is a Shaman ~ Reiki
Master Teacher with years of experience in both healing modalities,
giving us insight on how each compliment the other and how he has grown
in his own Spiritual Journey combining the two.
The book begins with the history of both Reiki and Shamanism and then weaving the two together showing us the deep relationship that they share. The story of how Reiki was discovered by Dr. Usui
on a spiritual quest in 1920 of a 21 day fast, prayer and meditation is
consistent with indigenous pathways for acquiring Shamanic skills or
knowledge. Dr. Usui recounts it in his written works, saying simply " I was inspired". After fasting on the sacred mountain of Mt. Kurama
in Japan for 21 days he felt an energy come down through his crown. The
symbols that are taught today are those that came, written in the
ancient Japanese Kanji form of writing. This method of
fasting is an ancient and traditional method for finding enlightenment
among most cultures. The method of learning to "see what is really
real" the Author explains, is essentially Shamanic and is perfectly
described in Dr Usui's words, "mind and heart blended as
one." The most ancient of the spiritual technologies available to us,
however, is Shamanism. It is believed to be 30,000 to 45,000 years old!
We are taken on Journey's with him as he describes healing that he has
been a part of and gives instruction on how anyone can do this by
outlining Shamanic journeying, which he explains is the key to
out-of-body healing, and how to incorporate Reiki with it.
The
Author writes ~ "In these times of war, food shortages, economic
uncertainty, even the massive ecological disaster of climate change,
people around the globe are faced with the task of growing beyond their
comfort level in order to confront the vast unknowns that are arising
in the world. We are so barraged with sights, sounds, information and
persuasions that are frightening and seem beyond our ability to affect
that there is a natural tendency to draw within and avoid all but the
most certain information, focusing only on that which is before us or
easily accomplished. If there is any certainty, however, it is that if
ever there was a time for expanding our spiritual knowledge to
encompass change, this is it. How do we do this? We look within, and we
see how our brothers and sisters of the earth, the plant and animal
nations, accomplish growth to the unknown."
Jim Pathfinder Ewing's other books and information can be found at his website: Healing the Earth/Ourselves at www.blueskywaters.com
Happy Reading!
