The ancestors of my lineage have been calling to me most of my life, but it wasn't until I met John English and had him lead me through the medicine wheel that I put the pieces together and realized who I am and not who I thought I was.

ANCIENT TEACHINGS FOR
OUR MODERN TIMES

WAYRA
The Spirit Of The Wind

NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2010

Wayra is a very sacred element.  You can see the affects of the wind all around you by the way it shapes and forms this planet, but still it cannot be seen. Most relationships we have are based on our ability to communicate effectively.  Music would be impossible to hear without it carrying the vibration of the instruments to our ears. The way we travel and play is affected by this force.

Our breath is in alignment with the element of air at the Kunka Nawi (the neck eye) at the throat. This center is associated with the element of the moon (Killa), and the air or wind. We all have a power song that connects us with spirit and I encourage you to listen for your song to come to you and sing it often. Use it in healing for yourself and others by humming or singing it in ceremony. The shaman knows the power of breath and uses  it to practices invisibility. By only speaking the truth and having nothing to defend we become transparent to those who aren't speaking their own truth.

The presence of spirit manifests through the element of air. It is said we can hear the voice of creator upon the wind. Are you speaking your truth?  Are you communicating from a place of love? Do you find yourself having to defend your words more often than you would like?

The breath of life indicates the animating force is within us and is the only difference between this life and the next.  And so, the element of air is a particularly strong bridge to all things scared. By not speaking our own truth encourages a festering of our energy and a build up of Huca (dense energy). Withholding our thoughts and feelings in fear of consequences can lead us to distrusting ourselves, being out of Ayni       (right relationship) with our own heart.

I encourage all of you to speak your own truth with great compassion and gentleness.  Be ever careful of the words you choose to use to others.  Always coming from a place of love.  In doing this, we inspire relationships of great strength, beauty and trust!

"HUCHA"
or
"Dense or Heavy Energy"
AUGUST 2010

Hucha is dense energy that accumulates in the energy body. It is one of two manifestations of kawsay(life force energy). The second is sami (refined energy). It is said that only humans can create Hucha. Hucha is energy that keeps us from being in right relationships with ourselves and others. There are many ways that hucha manifests in our lives such as anger, fear, self doubt, etc, etc. If you are experiencing any of this in your life you may need to clear some hucha.

Hucha, when cleared from the energy body, becomes food for Pachamama (our mother earth). It is not judged as bad or negative - it just is. There are a lot of ways to clear yourself of hucha... you can roll an egg all over your body and then offer the hucha filled egg to a river or bury it in the earth. You can meditate and make a connection through your cosco (your belly) and feed Pachamama directly, or you can use a stone to clear the energy and offer it back to the earth.

Understanding hucha and it's purpose in our lives can assist us in the beautiful journey of self-acceptance and self-love. It is then that we may be better able to accept what was previously considered to be 'unacceptable' parts of ourselves. When we understand the essence of hucha we can clearly see how important it is in maintaining our energy fields and how happy Pachamama is to digest it for us!

MOTHER EARTH
JULY 2010

Pachamama, Gaia, Mother Earth. She is the spirit of the Earth. She is the one that will never leave us and never forsake us. She gives us everything we need.

Life is a very fascinating and mysterious experience, and we can’t define it by plant and animal life alone. Pachamama is similar to us with a life of her own. Everything we see has its own vibration; from the mountains and rivers to grains of sand and drops of water. Everything is in motion and vibrating…everything is alive!

The great Indian Chief Seattle gave his answer to the white man in this clear message.

“Teach your children what we have taught ours;
That the Earth is our mother.
Because everything that will happen to the Earth,
Will also happen to the children of the Earth.
If men spit on the ground, it is on themselves that they are spitting.
Man did not weave the web of life; he is but a thread within it"
We all need to create a relationship with Pachamama. We have to take the time needed to nurture this relationship. Doing this will help move us into ayni (sacred reciprocity) and Munay (unconditional love) with Pachamama. We as society must learn to better mend the relationship with the Mother, to come into harmony with her vibration.

We do this by honoring the stone people, the plant people, the two legged, the four legged, the winged, the finned, the furred the clawed, and even the creepy crawlies. Build on a mentality of being of service and being in balance with all that is around you, the brain and the heart are the centers from which our life expresses itself.

When you go for a walk pick up trash along the way, wave to a neighbor you usually don’t wave to, offer to help a friend in need. When we give back we make room for even more of that which gives us joy. Volunteer with your favorite charity. Be creative and you’ll be amazed at how your life will change.

When we can come together in community we have much more collective energy to concentrate on our manifestations.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY
JUNE 2010

Let us use the month of June to honor the father's, and the forefathers and the father's yet to come. In doing this I would like to explain the nature of the masculine and the feminine energy that we experience and react to every day of our lives. These energies are the two aspects that make up the ONE energy...it is the SAME energy! When we ground ourselves and become more in balance, we can easily shift the energy around us to experience more peace, love, harmony and joy in our lives.

Masculine energy is action...it's doing... it's the part of God that reaches out and manifests itself as Everything That Is.

Feminine energy is the energy of Pure Being...it is pure source energy that has yet to manifest.

Mother Earth is in a heavy shift of masculine energy at this time. This can be seen by all the earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, and other natural disasters occurring around the planet in recent months. You can see it in the economy, in the ups and downs in the stock market, and even in our relationships at work and home.

As we spend more time outside in the evenings I invite you to connect with grandmother moon and give yourself permission to receive her energy. Father sun (masculine energy) gives its light and grandmother moon (feminine energy) receives it and gives it back to us so sweetly and so tenderly, like only a grandmother can. We need to bask in her love and light and ground ourselves within it. Feel her pulling just as she does on earths oceans and allow her influence to remind us of what can be. It's up to us to dream our world into being and when we are in balance we can manifest anything we desire.

The summer solstice is the day after fathers day which means that we will experience the longest day of the year (masculine energy) and the shortest night (feminine energy). We have to work harder to stay in balance this time of year due to father suns stronger influence... So let's use these events to remind ourselves
to become more in balance with the earth and all our relations. And to be Gentle with ourselves and be kind to ourselves, for it's not about being masculine or feminine, it is a balance of the two and that the only truth is "I AM"

So, in honor of this day, I send all fathers much harmony, blessings & love in abundance!
