ARTIST ANGEL OF THE MONTH:
Christine Von Lossberg

I have been an artist all of my life.
I am am mom to two wonderful people and a Gramma to three!
I was born and raised in Long
Beach, California by wonderful,
fun loving parents who encouraged me to paint. At 11 I did a painting
of Mahatma Ghandhi and won an award for it which validated me. I
was so proud! I painted lots of
Indian children and babies, Jesus
in the garden praying, animals and
I would draw the sunbathers at the beach where we were raised. My wonderful 50's life with the King
and Queen of the beach, my sun worshiping parents. My dad was instrumental in getting the first man
on the moon and my mom is a awesome singer, charity worker
and was a great 50's mom to four
kids and went on to be a corporate executive. My education in art has been to a large degree self taught.

THIS MONTH'S JOYFUL TIP

March’s Tip:
Learn Emotional Freedom
Technique (EFT)!

(And if you DO know it,
for goodness sake, USE IT!!)

This month’s joyful tip is directly from a chapter of a book I am writing. I strongly believe EFT’s healing effects, and as a trauma therapist, can tell you that it works quickly to clear the most stubborn of negative emotions.

What is Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)? EFT is a newly discovered healing technique that falls under the category of Energy Therapies. Energy therapists assert that emotions exist in our body’s nervous system, not in our thoughts. EFT clears the body’s nervous system of negative feelings. It works very quickly. And EFT is simple to do! Even children can learn it easily.

Emotions versus Thought:  We know that the body’s nervous system reacts to stress. This is why your stomach goes into knots or you get a headache when you are upset. This is why your heart hurts when you are dumped by the lover of your dreams or your throat tightens up when you fight back tears. The fact that emotions exist in the body is the reason some people do not get better with traditional counseling. EFT is best used in conjunction with other therapies.

Cognitive therapy, or “talk” counseling assists clients in gaining awareness into their self-defeating behaviors and in identifying negative self-talk. This type of therapy is helpful in teaching clients better ways to operate in the world- the idea being that, with a little awareness, the client can overcome depreciating thoughts and replace them with more positive ones.  This is helpful- sometimes. But with unprocessed emotional pain- something that many people live with on a daily basis- talk therapy does not help. And clients who do not budge from their self-sabotaging, depressive ways are labeled “difficult” or “attention seeking” and told that they “don’t really want to get better” or that they are “manipulative and complicated.” We can liken this to a medical doctor prescribing positive thinking to a raging wound- and then blaming the client when the wound fails to heal.

Applying positive thinking over emotional pain is a tough undertaking. People often “strong-arm” negative emotions… and then feel awful about their inevitable fall back to despair. “I failed!” she will tell herself. This cements the notion that “there really is something wrong with me!” when actually she has just not been given the proper tools to successfully clear her nervous system of negative emotions related to painful memories. This is important because emotional memory largely dictates human behavior. Feelings exist in the body’s nervous system- which is why we need to work there in order to heal. EFT does just that.

How Can EFT Help Me?
EFT can be used to heal all of
 the following emotions:

·    Fear
·    Jealousy
·    Anger
·    Despair
·    Shame
·    Guilt
·    Sadness
·    Obsession
·    Frustration
·    Rage
·    Embarrassment
·    Traumatic memories
·    Anxiety
·    Depression
·    Grief
·    Disgust
·    … and many others

How Exactly Does EFT Work? EFT works directly with your nervous system, which is why it is so effective. The human nervous system can be thought of as an intricate road map throughout the body. Nerves merge and disperse at points called meridian points.*   This is why EFT is sometimes called Meridian Desensitization.

EFT gently manipulates the meridian points (tapping on them with the fingertips) to literally flush negative emotions out of the body. In other words, EFT will help you “get over it”... and quickly!

EFT is simple. By tapping with the fingertips on the body’s energy meridian points, a tiny electrical impulse is sent through the emotional-neural tracks. This tiny electrical impulse literally “pushes along” any stuck emotions that may be trapped in that particular nerve track. Once it is pushed out, the emotion processes. It no longer causes a disruption in the body’s nervous system. Poof! The sadness vanishes. The anger is ousted. The fear subsides. The guilt is gone. In fact, you can think of EFT as an “emotional rotor-rooter.”

To those unfamiliar with EFT, the process can look really weird or “out there.” Some might feel a little silly trying it. But set all of your resistance aside for just a minute and take a leap of faith. There is the reason that EFT is becoming so popular and that we are seeing so many miracles take place in the lives of those who use it.

If you are interested in taking a class to learn more about this fascinating technique, please email me for more information.

Blessed be,
Laurel

Gemstone is Citrine

In the last couple of months I have been personally focusing on what it is that I would like to make of 2010. I have so many Dreams for this year, and have been working hard to find peace and patience with where I am at; defining what it is I want, and going within to find the answers on where to begin.

One steady conclusion that I have come to embrace is that there is simply no room for the new if I don’t clear some space in my mind and home to make way for it!  Hanging on for dear life to old ideas, patterns and even old stuff! Spring is on its way! Its time to break free from the Chrysalis and get rockin!

In the past few months I have written about stones to help you practice gratitude, release fear, embrace change and this month I would like to talk about a special little beauty that will help you clear some space in your home, mind and even your body.  In addition to the wealth of tools we have available to us today to help us achieve this is the beautiful and enchanting gem and mineral kingdom.

All to often we underestimate the nurturing and healing energies of these beautiful gifts from Mother Earth. With this in mind I would like to introduce you to this months featured Gem Stone, Citrine.

Citrine is a variety of the Quartz Crystal. It ranges in color from  a light yellow to a golden brown. Citrine is one of few stones that does not accumulate negative energies, and will actually dissipate and transform negative dense energy. When placed in each room of your home Citrine will clear the space of stagnant undesirable energies and will also provide a protective shield around the area of which it resides. Citrine stimulates mental focus, confidence, clarity of mind, creativity and will power. It will transmute fear and aid you in finding resolutions to your most daunting issues.

Citrine may be used to illuminate and activate the Root, Solar plexus and Crown Chakras and will help to align your physical body with your auric body. It will also assist you in  clearing out murky areas in both the aura and physical body. When worn or carried it will provide a protective barrier around you and you may also carry a piece of citrine in your wallet, coin purse or place a piece in your cash register to promote and maintain wealth. Citrine has been used to promote circulation of the blood, aid in digestive disturbances, to balance the thyroid, activate the thymus and enhance visual abilities.

As you can see Citrine is a wonderful stone for aiding us in making way for the new and improved! So when you reach for your dust rags, brooms and mops this spring, don’t forget to pack a little Citrine in your spring cleaning kit! Call on the energies of Citrine to help you make some room in your life.

Here is to a beautiful budding spring!

With Much Love,
Charity Thompson

HELPFUL TIP:
If you are unsure on the best placement of a crystal in your home use this helpful tip to find the best place. Begin by drawing a map of your home, when complete use a pendulum by maneuvering it across your sketch until you achieve a “yes” answer. Alternatively walk around a room or your home using the pendulum in various areas until a “yes answer has been achieved.

TOUCHED BY ANGELS
-thank you Isaac for posting this beautiful inspiration on our blog.

I've been surrounded by Angels since the day I came into this world. I was born premature and Doctors told my Mom that it didn't look good. But I grew into a healthy active child. And as a child I fell 8 ft into a drainage pipe that was left uncovered. It took several firefighters and neighbors to get me out but 5 and a half hours later I was safe in my Mothers arms. And to be honest I don't have much memory of the event.

Well I grew into an active teenager and survived urban warfare in my city streets. I was jumped and beat more than once, shot at close range and not even grazed, hit by a car and only recieved scratches from landing in the street, and survived a cancer scare as an adult.

I know that these aren't your average Angel experiences that you usually hear about. But these are only a few of mine. I've seen the power of prayer first hand and felt the warth of God's love in times of need. I value life and I'm thankful for just the air I breath. I'm always willing to share what ever I got. It don't matter if it's my last bit of food or just a thought , Im always prepared to share.

All I know is that God has sent me Angels
to me without fail. Have Faith , Trust , & believe.

Much Love & Respect Isaac

MARCH'S AWESOME WEBSITES

Angels
As Explained By Children

Ashley ~ age 9

I only know the names of two angels, Hark and Harold.

Gregory, age 5
Everybody's got it all wrong. Angels don't wear halos anymore. I forget why, but scientists are working on it

-Olive, age 9
It's not easy to become an angel! First, you die. Then you go to Heaven, and then there's still the flight training to go through. And then you got to agree to wear those angel clothes.

-Matthew, age 9
Angels work for God and watch over kids when God has to go do something else.

 -Mitchell, age 7
My guardian angel helps me with math, but he's not much good for science.

-Henry, age 8
Angels don't eat, but they drink milk from Holy Cows!!!

-Jack, age 6
Angels talk all the way while they're flying you up to heaven. The main subject is where you went wrong before you got dead.

-Daniel, age 9
When an angel gets mad, he takes a deep breath and counts to ten. And when he lets out his breath again,  somewhere there's a tornado.

-Reagan, age 10
Angels have a lot to do and they keep very busy. If you lose a tooth, an angel comes in through your window and leaves money under your pillow.

-Sara, age 6
Angels live in cloud houses made by God and his son, who's a very good carpenter.

-Jared, age 8
All angels are girls because they gotta wear
dresses and boys didn't go for it.

-Antonio, age 9
My angel is my grandma who died last year. She got  a big head start on helping me while she was still down here on earth.

-Ashley ~ age 9
Some of the angels are in charge of helping heal sick animals and pets. And if they don't make the animals get better, they help the child get over it.

- Vicki , age 8
What I don't get about angels is why, when someone is in love, they shoot arrows at them.

No One  Say's it  Better Then A Child...

~Thanks Karen!

If instead of a gem, or even a
flower, we should cast the gift
of a loving thought into the
heart of a friend,
that would be giving as
the angels give.

WOMAN AND A FORK

There was a young woman who had been diagnosed with a terminal illness and had been given three months to live. So as she was getting her things 'in order,' she contacted her Pastor and had him come to her house to discuss certain aspects of her final wishes.

She told him which songs she wanted sung at the service, what scriptures she would like read, and what outfit she wanted to be buried in

Everything was in order and the Pastor was preparing to leave when the young woman suddenly remembered something very important to her.

'There's one more thing,' she said excitedly. 'What's that?' came the Pastor's reply.  'This is very important,' the young woman continued. 'I want to be buried with a fork in my right hand.'

The Pastor stood looking at the young woman, not knowing quite what to say. That surprises you, doesn't it?' the young woman asked. 'Well, to be honest, I'm puzzled by the request,' said the Pastor.

The young woman explained. 'My grandmother once told me this story, and from that time on I have always tried to pass along its message to those I love and those who are in need of encouragement. In all my years of attending socials and dinners, I always remember that when the dishes of the main course were being cleared, someone would inevitably lean over and say, 'Keep your fork.' It was my favorite part because I knew that something better was coming...like velvety chocolate cake or deep-dish apple pie. Something wonderful, and with substance!'  So, I just want people to see me there in that casket with a fork in my hand and I want them to wonder ' What's with the fork?' Then I want you to tell them: 'Keep your fork...the best is yet to come.'

The Pastor's eyes welled up with tears of joy as he hugged the young woman good-bye. He knew this would be one of the last times he would see her before her death. But he also knew that the young woman had a better grasp of heaven than he did. She had a better grasp of what heaven would be like than many people twice her age, with twice as much experience and knowledge. She KNEW that something better was coming.

At the funeral people were walking by the young woman's casket and they saw the cloak she was wearing and the fork placed in her right hand. Over and over, the Pastor heard the question, 'What's with the fork?' And over and over he smiled.

During his message, the Pastor told the people of the conversation he had with the young woman shortly before she died. He also told them about the fork and about what it symbolized to her. He told the people how he could not stop thinking about the fork and told them that they probably would not be able to stop thinking about it either

He was right. So the next time you reach down for your fork let it remind you, ever so gently, that the best is yet to come. Friends are a very rare jewel, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share a word of praise, and they always want to open their hearts to us.

Show your friends how much you care Remember to always be there for them, even when you need them more. For you never know when it may be their time to 'Keep your fork.'

Cherish the time you have, and the memories you share . Being friends with someone is not an opportunity but a sweet responsibility.

Thnx Kim for sending this via e-mail ;)

10 – Minute Feng Shui
Room by Room

Hundreds of Easy Tips
& Techniques for Prosperity,
Health and Happiness

Spring!  A time for new beginnings, cleaning out those closets…releasing
that which does not serve our highest good any longer and moving that stuck winter energy!

There are many really good books out there on the art of Feng Shui. I picked this one for it’s relatively easy title. How can I go wrong with something that has 10 – Minutes right in the title! I also liked the fact that that it gives advice room
 by room.

Since January I have been working on “clearing space” in my head as well
as in my home.  I have known for years how important it is to keep the energy in my body moving, and while I make sure
to create Sacred Space in my home with Reiki and intention, I have never really paid that much attention to the “flow”
of energy in my home.  All I can say is that,  after implementing a few of the
tips in this book, is WOW!  The energy has totally shifted and I’m really “feeling” it!  Why has it taken me all these years
to realize this and what can I move,
paint or throw away next!

Because it is truly written for a
room-by-room approach it doesn’t
seem like an overwhelming task, nor
do you have to change everything.
There are simple things that you can
do in each room to create harmony and balance in your environments and, by extension, in your lives.

Feng Shui ( pronounced fung shway )
has been practiced in the East for more than 2,000 years. Rooted in the Chinese spiritual tradition Taoism and teachings
of Confucius, it literally means “wind and water”. The goal is to direct qi or chi  (the vital energy that I, as well as the Chinese believe animates all life on earth) through your environment so that its movement resembles a gently flowing stream or a pleasant breeze. Properly utilized, Feng Shui lets us attract what the Chinese call the Three Great
Blessings ~ Health, Wealth, and Happiness.

There is of course, a lot more to this,
but listed below are a few tips for each room that you can implement right away, I encourage you to pick up a book on
the art of Feng Shui, you will be amazed that without spending a lot of money or doing major alterations on your home,
you can still reap the benefits and get
the energy flowing!

The Entrance To Your Home ~

Plant red flowers in the front your
home: Because red is a lucky color in China, you can improve your good
fortune by planting red flowers in front
of your home. Window boxes or planters are good choices for apartment
dwellers – wood containers signify
growth, and ceramic or stone pots represent security.

The Living Room ~

Clutter in your living room symbolizes confusion in relationships with friends
or family members. Magazines and newspapers are prime sources of clutter, as soon as you’ve read them, recycle them or pass them along.  To encourage peaceful feelings or relaxation among friends or family members, burn candles scented with lavender or vanilla
essential oils.

Dining Room ~

Always keep a vase of fresh flowers
on your dining room table. Feng Shui
has ties to the Chinese nature religion Taoism. Place a vase of fresh flowers
on your dining room table to connect diners with nature and to inspire
positive feelings. As soon as the
flowers start to wilt, remove them to avoid unwanted symbols of death
and decay.

Kitchen ~

Hang a mirror above the stove. In Feng Shui, the stove is considered a source
of good luck and prosperity. Because mirrors visually “double” the power of whatever objects they reflect, hanging one above your stove symbolically
doubles its power to bring you good fortune. A mirror serves another purpose here, too. When the cook is preparing food, he or she may not be able to see people entering the kitchen. The mirror allows the cook to see behind him or
her without turning around.

Master Bedroom ~

Don’t let dirty laundry collect in your bedroom. Chi gets stuck on dirt,
resulting in stagnant conditions. “Dirty laundry” also represents unpleasant business and secrets, which can damage a romantic partnership. Instead of using
a clothes hamper in your master bedroom, put dirty clothes in a hall
closet, bathroom, or other area of your home. Keep your bedroom free of
clutter to promote clarity and comfort
 in your love life.

Children's Bedrooms ~

Use green in the color scheme to encourage serenity. Green has a calming, stabilizing effect on us. Because we associate green with nature and plants,
it can also make us feel secure and grounded. To help a nervous, anxious,
or very active child feel more calm and centered, paint his or her bedroom
walls green.

Bathrooms ~

Tie a green ribbon around your
shower head to promote good health.
This helps you focus on your health
and well being whenever you shower. Imagine the falling water -which is a source of Chi- washing away any impurities, or other health problems.
 The green ribbon represents life,
growth, and serenity.

Above all…  Clean out those closets,
get rid of that clutter!  If you haven’t seen it or used it in a couple years, consider giving it to Goodwill or a
charity of your choice.  Move that Energy!!

Wishing You All The Joyful New
Beginnings that Spring can Bring!

In Abundant Peace and Love!

* FRIENDS ARE LIKE ANGELS *

Our friends are like angels,
Who brighten our days.
In all kinds of wonderful,
Magical ways.

Their thoughtfulness comes,
As a gift from above.
And we feel we're surrounded,
By warm, caring love.

Like upside-down rainbows,
Their smiles bring the sun.
And they fill ho-hum moments,
With laughter and fun.

Friends are like angels,
Without any wings.
Blessing our lives,
With the most precious things.

Words Can Be
Food For The Soul

DAILY ACCEPTANCE PRAYER

I accept myself completely.
I accept my strengths and my weaknesses,
my gifts and my shortcomings,
my good points and my faults.
I accept myself completely as a human being.
I accept that I am here to learn and grow, and
I accept that I am learning and growing.
I accept the personality I've developed, and
I accept my power to heal and change.
I accept myself without condition or reservation.
I accept that the core of my being is goodness and
that my essence is love, and
I accept that I sometimes forget that.
I accept myself completely, and in this acceptance
I find an ever-deepening inner strength.
From this place of strength, I accept my life fully and
I open to the lessons it offers me today.
I accept that within my mind are both fear and love, and
I accept my power to choose which
I will experience as real.
I recognize that I experience only the results of my own choices.
I accept the times that I choose fear
as part of my learning and healing process, and
I accept that I have the potential and power
in any moment to choose love instead.
I accept mistakes as part of my growth,
so I am always willing to forgive myself and give myself another chance.
I accept that my life is the expression of my thought, and
I commit myself to aligning my thoughts
more and more each day with the thought of love.
I accept that I am an expression of this love.

PUPPY SIZE

sent in from Michelle
S.

“Danielle keeps repeating it over and over again. We've been back to this animal shelter at least five times. It has been weeks now since we started all of this," the mother told the volunteer.

"What is it she keeps asking for?" the volunteer asked.

"Puppy size!" replied the mother.

"Well, we have plenty of puppies, if that's what she's looking for."

"I know...we have seen most of them," the mom said in frustration.

Just then Danielle came walking into the office

"Well, did you find one?" asked her mom. "No, not this time," Danielle said with sadness in her voice. "Can we come back on the weekend?"

The two women looked at each other, shook their heads and laughed

"You never know when we will get more dogs. Unfortunately, there's always a supply," the volunteer said.

Danielle took her mother by the hand and headed to the door. "Don't worry, I'll find one this weekend," she said.

Over the next few days both mom and dad had long conversations with her.

They both felt she was being too particular. "It's this weekend or we're not looking any more," Dad finally said in frustration.

"We don't want to hear anything more about puppy size either," Mom added.

Sure enough, they were the first ones in the shelter on Saturday morning. By now Danielle knew her way around, so she ran right for the section that housed the smaller dogs.

Tired of the routine, mom sat in the small waiting room at the end of the first row of cages. There was an observation window so you could see the animals during times when visitors weren't permitted.

Danielle walked slowly from cage to cage, kneeling periodically to take a closer look. One by one the dogs were brought out and she held each one.

One by one she said, "Sorry, you 're not the one."

It was the last cage on this last day in search of the perfect pup.

The volunteer opened the cage door and the child carefully picked up the dog and held it closely. This time she took a little longer.

"Mom, that's it! I found the right puppy! He's the one! I know it!" she screamed with joy. "It's the puppy size!"

"But it's the same size as all the other puppies you held over the last few weeks," Mom said.

"No not size ---- the sighs. When I held him in my arms, he sighed," she said. "Don't you remember? When I asked you one day what love is, you told me love depends on the sighs of your heart. The more you love, the bigger the sigh!"

The two women looked at each other for a moment. Mom didn't know whether to laugh or cry. As she stooped down to hug the child, she did a little of both.

"Mom, every time you hold me, I sigh. When you and Daddy come home from work and hug each other, you both sigh. I knew I would find the right puppy if it sighed when I held it in my arms," she said. Then holding the puppy up close to her face she said, "Mom, he loves me. I heard the sighs of his heart!"

Close your eyes for a moment and think about the love that makes you sigh. I not only find it in the arms of my loved ones, but in the caress of a sunset, the kiss of the moonlight and the gentle brush of cool air on a hot day.

They are the sighs of God. Take the time to stop and listen; you will be surprised at what you hear. "Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."

Much gratitude to you Michelle!
