• Be sure the act is safe for you and the recipient.
• Consider yours and the recipients personal boundaries.
  
• Make sure that your act of kindness is not done in a way to create embarrassment, obligations, dependency or other negative feelings.   
• Allow others to give to you as well.  If it weren't for receivers, giving wouldn't be possible.
