Plato said "what if the man could see Beauty Itself, pure, unalloyed, stripped of mortality, and all its pollution, stains, and vanities, unchanging, divine,...the man becoming in that communion, the friend of God, himself immortal;...would that be a life to disregard?”

The  beauty of the Divine is all around and within us, never lacking and ever present. It can be easy to loose sight of just how wonderfully perfect each of us are, and just how magnificent the world around us is. This month I would like to introduce you to a stone that will help you to connect with the beauty that is all in and around you. It will enable you to harness a deeper connection with your self, nature, and its many spirits. A stone that bridges the lines of communication with other Earthly realms where the fairies play and devas reside. The featured gemstone for this month is Staurolite.

Staurolite forms in prismatic crystals, often twin crystals in the shape of a cross. The color ranges from red/brown, to brown or brown/black. It is also referred to as the “Fairy Cross”.

Staurolite offers an energy that vibrates at the frequency of other earthly realms like that of the fairies and devas. It offers a gate way of communication with these realms, nature spirits, and shows us the interconnectedness of those realms and our own. It brings us to the realization that divinity ripples through our reality as well as through all other earthly realms that are often revered as sacred. Staurolite has also been used to facilitate communication with the fairy realm, nature and animal spirits. It has been used under the pillow to initiate astral travel and lucid dreaming. It provides protection, a sense of security, and counteracts fear and hysteria.

Staurolite is a wonderful stone for healing and regeneration as a whole. It supports us mind, body and spirit. Invite the energies of Staurolite into your life. Begin seeing yourself and all that surrounds you in the purest of light. Connect with the Divinity within and all around you, forever seeing your world through the eyes of love.

   For this months featured gemstone, I felt the timing appropriate to re-run one of the previous Earth’s Charity Articles on Rose Quartz. Everyone, and everything upon this planet, in some form or another is experiencing a profound transformation.  A deepened understanding and knowing of what it is exactly that truly matters, is reaching out from the depths of our existence and is billowing in the ethers. We are all experiencing this transformation in our own way, yet on a deeper level we are experiencing the same thing. HELPFUL TIP:
      Show your crystals some love by cleansing and recharging them regularly. This will enhance the effectiveness of the energies as well as keep your little lovelies happy! To cleanse your crystals you may, run water over them, emerge them in sea salt overnight, or smudge them with sage.

      Once you have cleansed the crystals recharge them in the moonlight or place them outside for a few hours in the morning. Please note that there are fragile stones such as Selenite and Kyanite, which should never be placed in water as they may and will eventually deteriorate.

In the last few weeks I have been increasingly prompted with the multi-dimensional concept of Self Acceptance and with each opportunity I have had to sit and really ponder the infinite possibilities of its meaning not only for me but also for each individual being and humanity as a whole.

Self Acceptance, such a simple phrase with such profound effects and limitless meaning. It can span from feelings of disapproval at the glimpse of our reflection in a mirror all the way down to the way we feel about certain things or what we think about certain situations. Could my own reservations, and self deflections not only effect me in profound manner but also ripple out and effect humanity as a whole. Would the healing of my own self image, as deep and mysterious as it may be, put into motion a butterfly effect of global proportions? When I feel whole and at peace with the way that I look, the way I think, I feel, I act, I am, would I then be more accepting of everyone and everything thing to cross my path. As most of us know the resounding conclusion is absolutely yes! When we are more willing to look at our selves with compassion and acceptance, we no longer spread the need to look at anyone with any less respect merely for the way they look, dress, their physical capabilities, who they love, their faith, their political preferences, and on and on.

I find it incredibly exciting that we are now in the 11th year of the 21st century. As for many, the number 11 holds a special place at the center of my being, and I could instantly feel its energy upon the arrival of 2011. Its amazing how such a simple prompt could evoke such powerful feelings of the Divine presence that resides within. There are many things that bring this feeling forth, for some it is in the beauty of the sunset, or the smile of a child. This month I would like to introduce you to a friend of mine, it is a spectacular stone that I am proud to say is part of my own personal collection. A stone that will invoke the Divine to shine bright for whom ever is in its presence, and offer a gateway of communication with not only your higher self but also with the Angels and Guides that remain steadfast at our sides. This months featured Gem Stone is Seraphinite.

Seraphinite is a gorgeous stone with an energy so calming yet invigorating that it not only effects the person who holds or wears it but also brings forth its energy to those who gaze upon it.

Its energy is feminine in nature and may be utilized to connect with the Angelic realms, and the Divine Feminine. For those who wish to communicate with their Angels, Seraphinite may be used in meditation and in the dream time, to facilitate such encounters. It works particularly well connecting us to and aiding us in working with the Angelic Realms that have special interest with bringing the planet and humanity back into to a state of balance.

It can be a challenge to face adversity with compassion and understanding for others and ourselves. We often look outward with an analytical approach in search of answers to these challenges we face, each of us seeking to understand the mechanics of this grand thing we call life. Often we face difficulties that will provide us with an experiential knowledge that may prove fruitful down the road, and we may find our selves trying to focus in on the "bigger picture", grasping at any possible blessing that may arise in adversity. This can be a very comforting and effective way to approach challenges, but if it is not approached in the light of the heart, it can be counter intuitive and end up being turned into an outward search and soon we have forgotten to appreciate and honor the landscape of the heart. It is in pulling life and its many experiences of great love and great sorrow into our hearts and returning them transmuted into self-awareness, and even greater love and compassion that we might truly begin to see clearly. When we turn from this outward search and begin to dig deep within our selves and start poking our head around the darkest and brightest corners of our hearts, with the eyes of humility and love, we will find road maps to the answers we seek, and everything we have been chasing outside of ourselves will begin to come to us in a different light. This months featured Gem Stone Alexandrite, will help us connect with our selves in very intimate ways, so that we may get to know who we are through our many textured experiences, transforming us into both the receiver and source of infinite divine joy.

All to often we underestimate the nurturing and healing energies of these beautiful gifts from Mother Earth.  With this in mind I would like to introduce  you to this months featured Gem Stone Peridot. pronounced (per-i-doh).

Peridot, a name derived from the Greek word “Peridona” meaning something similar to “giving plenty”, “giving richness” or “plentiful”, can help one to receive abundance in all areas of life. Its color ranges from green, to yellow green. It emits a warm and friendly energy, useful in bringing  about a sense of inner warmth and well being. Peridot calls us to examine the aspects of any given situation, furthering our understanding of changes that may be necessary for growth. It may also be used to bring about results in ones search when all avenues seem to have been exhausted. It allows you to become open to and accepting of intellectual pursuits in matters of love and relationships, aiding you in moving past hurt, thus furthering the understanding of your relationships. Peridot counters the effects of negative emotions alleviating stress, anger, depression, anxiety, and jealousy, all fear based emotions.  It clears and activates the Heart and Solar Plexus Chakras increasing relaxation, comfort, patience, confidence and assertiveness. It has also been said to be the “Money Stone”, drawing money and opportunity your way. Peridot is an excellent healing stone, invigorating, strengthening and regenerating the body. Is has been used in the treatment of disorders involving the heart, lungs, spleen, intestinal tract, and has also been used during child birth to stimulate contractions and the opening of the birth canal. Peridot further more protects you from outside influences from effecting the balanced and cleansed structure. It should be removed from the body prior to any energy work, unless being used on the Heart and Solar Plexus energy centers. Like many gems with the exception of self charging stones such as citrine, peridot must be cleansed from time to time as internal disturbances will begin to effect to optimum condition. Cleanse your stone by placing it in the light of a full moon or if you are a Reiki practitioner or energy healer you may also Reiki or treat your gem to cleanse and recharge it.

As you can now see peridot is a wonderfully powerful gem. Its uses are beneficial to all areas of life as it fosters emotional balance, security, and inner peace. Use peridot to aid you in clearing up the muck in your life, bringing forth the “Attitude of Gratitude” and personally witness your life transform. Mother Earth loves you and rejoices in your desire to heal, physically, mentally, and emotionally. As you heal your self not only do you heal others you also heal our beautiful Mother Earth. Abundance in all areas of life is yours for the taking!

Begin by:

Cleansing and charging your stone in the light of a full moon, the sun or by treating it with Reiki energy. Hold the stone in the palm of your hand envisioning white light surrounding your stone and affirm “This stone is to be used for the highest good, and in love and light”   Spend a few minutes formulating your intent or clarifying in your mind what it is you would like the stone to help you with.?Be very specific, remembering to keep it positive.  Sit in a quiet place where you will not be disturbed and focus your attention on the stone, as this will attune you to its energies. When you are ready clearly state your intention for this crystal several times.
